About 20 signs for Republican political candidates have been stolen, according to MaryEllen Salerno, chairwoman of the Carbon County Republican Committee.

She said nearly all were for the commissioners' race.One sign couldn't be stolen and was destroyed. She said it appears someone backed a vehicle into it.The matter has been turned into police in Lehighton and Mahoning Township, Salerno said.
