Penn Forest Road Bridge open

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Friday that work to replace the Penn Forest Road Bridge over Wild Creek in Penn Forest Township is complete and the bridge is now open.

During construction, Penn Forest Road was closed and detoured between Hell Hollow Road and Smith Road. The posted detour utilized Route 903, Maury Road, Long Run Road, Fairyland Road, Route 209, and Trachsville Hill Road.Minichi, Inc. of Old Forge, Lackawanna County, was the general contractor on the $538,700 project.The new Penn Forest Road Bridge is a concrete box beam bridge that is 25 feet long and 30 feet wide. Penn Forest Road has average daily traffic of 387 vehicles.
