Mahoning Township police charged a Lehighton man with driving under the influence (DUI) after his truck became stuck in a snowbank on the Mansion House Hill.

Police responded to a call about a truck stuck in the snow with an intoxicated driver at 9:16 p.m. Feb. 5. Police smelled a strong odor of alcohol from the driver, John Heine, 46, of the 100 block of Third St. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Lehighton hospital for blood tests. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
