Insulting Jesus

Dear Editor:

RE: TIMES NEWS Letters Sept. 11, 2010. In 'a weekend of sadness', Deacon Skip La Police writes, "A wise and good man once commended (commented?) that if Buddha, Moses, Muhammad, Jesus and Confucius should ever come together … they would instantly recognize each other … as good and holy truth speakers … beloved equally by the same God."Implying that Jesus is just another founder of a worldwide religion is insulting. Jesus is unique because He is both God and man. Moses would eagerly confess this truth but it is highly unlikely that the others would. In John 14:6, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."Jesus told the people of His day in John 8:24, "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." By 'He', He meant the Messiah, the Savior of the world. He is saying the same thing to us as well.Andrew Yurchak, Jr.ayurchak@localnet.comNesquehoning
