Police shoot, kill man

A man, reportedly age 42, was shot and killed by state police this morning when he allegedly tried to steal a vehicle.

According to TIMES NEWS freelance photographer Larry Neff, the individual allegedly stole a truck tractor from Koch's Turkey Farm in Lewistown Valley, fled up Wild Cat Road, and turned into a development.Neff was informed that he fled on foot, tried to steal a second vehicle, and then was shot and killed inside the vehicle by state police.The incident was reported shortly after 8 a.m.When the individual drove the truck tractor into the development, reportedly he drove over mailboxes, bushes, and across a lawn, coming to rest against trees.It was then that the man allegedly tried to flee on foot, then jumped into another vehicle.As of 11:20 a.m., police and the man's body were still at the scene while the investigation continues.Lehighton Paramedics responded to the incident.
