One person was injured Friday morning when involved in a rear-end type collision on Bankway Street in Lehighton. The crash occurred just after 9 a.m. as a young female driver was traveling south and stopped in traffic to make a left turn onto the Thomas McCall bridge. As she sat in traffic she was struck in the rear by a pickup truck also traveling south attempting to enter the right lane to turn west onto SR443. A young male passenger in the front seat was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics after being extricated by members of the Lehighton Fire Department. Two infant children in the rear seat along with the driver of the car were not injured. The driver of the pickup truck also was not injured in the mishap.
