The engagement of Alissa Grell to Michael Muffley, both of Lehighton, has been announced by the couple and their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Raymond and Beverly Grell of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Patricia and Skip Hoelker of Sioux City, Iowa. She earned a bachelor of science degree at Iowa State University and a master's of public health at Des Moines University.She is employed as an infection control practitioner at Easton Hospital.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Linda and Mike Muffley of Lehighton. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Lafayette College, and is employed as a professional engineer at Hanover Engineering.The couple is planning to wed in September of 2011.
