Monroe man jailed after gun incident

A Monroe County man was jailed following an incident at his home that occurred on Thursday, June 10, that required a swat team to respond. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident started about 11:43 p.m. at 2106 Lakeside Drive in Tobyhanna.

Officers were dispatched to that location after receiving a call that Dellmont Pooley, 35, of that address, was threatening to hurt himself and others. Police also learned that Pooley had several firearms in his possession and that there were two females in the home with him.When officers arrived at the scene they were advised by neighbors they heard gun shots fired from the vicinity of the Pooley home. Officers made contact with Pooley by phone and determined the two females had fled the house.Pooley then began shooting inside and outside the home and toward the officers. Eventually officers were able to talk Pooley into surrendering without incident.He was taken into custody and charged with reckless endangering another person, terroristic threats and persons not to possess a firearm. He was committed to the county prison in Snydersville.
