Ian Hook, a fourth grade student at Our Lady of the Angels Academy in Lansford, is someone who "put his money where his mouth is."

After hearing of the devastation in Haiti, Ian decided to use his own money to purchase items (an MP3 player, jewelry and a game) and sell chances to support the efforts in Haiti.This is not the first time Ian has shown such extraordinary kindness to those in need. After completing a project on the saints in third grade, he was so moved by the story of St. Francis Xavier and his missionary work, that he used his money to buy games for poor children and to put together baskets of food for the school Mission Outreach Program."Helping people is what we're supposed to do," Ian says. "I wanted to be able to help the kids in Haiti."The students at OLOAA will have a school-wide dress down day - wearing the colors of the Haitian flag - to raise other funds for the Haitian cause.
