EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Rock band Bon Jovi is planning a new world tour that will kick off at the new home of the New York Giants and Jets.

The two-year tour will begin May 26 with a show at New Jersey's new $1.6 billion Meadowlands football stadium. It will be the first concert inside the new venue, which is nearing completion.

The band announced the tour Thursday during an invitation-only performance for 5,000 fan club contest winners and construction workers in the new stadium's parking lot.

The tour will feature 135 shows in 30 countries.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and lead guitarist Richie Sambora are New Jersey natives.

Bon Jovi is a Giants season ticket holder and says he's been attending games at the old Giants Stadium for decades.
