A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash. The arrest was one of three pending DUI arrests reported by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said Thomas Baines, 49, of Gilbert, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck along Polk Township Road, in Polk Township, about 10:36 p.m. on Feb. 19 when the vehicle left the road and struck an embankment.

Troopers said alcohol is suspected in the crash. Damages were disabling to the truck and Baines was injured.

A Carbon County man is the victim of identity theft.

State police at Lehighton said an unknown person made a transaction on an account they opened in the name of Kevin Fegley, 38, of Forest Inn Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township. The incident occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 20.

Two students at Palmerton High School, Fireline Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, are facing charges following two separate incidents at the school.

State police at Lehighton said a 16-year-old female from Palmerton is facing a charge of arson-dangerous burning after she allegedly lit papers on fire in the school gymnasium. The incident occurred about 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 16, troopers said.

A 17-year-old male student was found unlawfully in possession of a controlled substance at the school about 2 p.m. on Feb. 18. He will be charged with the drug count.

A driver sustained a minor injury in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 10:06 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, along SR715 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Frank M. Italo, 49, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1999 Dodge Voyager southbound when he lost control and struck a tree along the berm. Italo suffered a minor head injury, troopers said, but refused medical treatment.

He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

A Carbon County resident was the victim of an act of criminal mischief that occurred in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said unknown persons put a long scratch mark on the driver side of the vehicle of Linda Marie Dunn, 43, of Summit Hill, while it was parked in a lot at the Vera Cruz Tavern, located at 3883 Main Rd. West, in Upper Milford Township. The incident occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 20.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from a vehicle incident reported in Schuylkill County.

Christopher Saul, of 1677 Buckaroo Drive, Lake Wynonnah, Auburn, Wayne Township, said his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck was entered while parked near his residence and removed was a XM satellite radio, silver in color. The incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, and 8 p.m. on Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes, one a hit and run in which the driver fled on foot, along Schuylkill County roadways.

Troopers said a crash occurred about 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, along Deiberts Valley Road, near Burma Road, in South Manheim Township. Corbin R. Wrona, 19, of Schuylkill Haven, was eastbound when he lost control of his 1986 Mazda RX7 while negotiating a left curve. The car spun counter-clockwise 270-degrees and crossed the westbound lane. The rear of the car impacted with a tree along the shoulder, troopers said.

Two women were cited following an incident in Carbon County. State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred about 3:46 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 19 Uffelman Lane, in Towamensing Trails, in Penn Forest Township.

Troopers said during the exchange of children between Mabel Fischetto, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, and her husband's girlfriend, identified as Sheila Wentland-Hess, of Albrightsville, they got into a verbal argument which turned physical. Both women were cited for harassment, troopers said.

A Lehighton resident was charged with bringing illegal drugs to the Carbon County prison.

Nesquehoning police chief Sean Smith obtained a felony warrant for Joseph Moyer Jr., 232 North St., rear, on Feb. 19, charging him with bringing 10 baggies of heroin to the prison on Feb. 12. Moyer was picked up on the warrant and arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford. He was committed to the county prison in lieu of $5,000 straight bail.

Borough police reported on other arrests made by officers.

A Monroe County man was cited for violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

State police at Fern Ridge said Anthony Borrero of Tobyhanna, repeatedly phoned Lorraine Borrero of Effort, in an attempt to make arrangements for a custody exchange. During the process Mrs. Borrero became uncooperative and her husband allegedly threatened her with physical harm, which was a violation of a PFA order she had against him.

Troopers said he wll be charged with the violation, which was reported on Feb. 13 at 3 p.m.
