Athletic awards

Pleasant Valley High School will hold its athletic awards program at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 23. One must have a ticket to attend.

Free bread

Every Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m., free bread will be available at the Sun Valley Fire Company in Effort. One should just show up. The Faith Mountain Church in Brodheadsville is sponsoring the event.

Pleasant Valley Intermediate School will hold its monthly PAC meeting on Monday, May 21 at 1:15 p.m. in the all purpose room.

Pleasant Valley Elementary PTO will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 17 at 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. There will be election of officers. Please try and attend.

St. Matthew's news

St. Matthew's will welcome guest preacher, the Rev. Alan Miller, conference minister from Penn Northeast Conference, on Sunday, May 13, Mother's Day. All are welcome to attend.

Many confirmed

This past Sunday, Bishop James C. Timlin confirmed over 120 young people at the service at Our Lady Queen of Peace.

This Sunday, over 100 parish children will be receiving First Communion.

PV School Board

The next meeting of the Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will be at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 10, in the district office in Brodheadsville.
