Mary Ann Bazules

Mary Ann (Gatz) Bazules, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, celebrated her 91st birthday on Saturday. She was born Feb. 12 in Old Forge in 1920. She also resided in Centereach, Long Island and Brodheadsville.

Mary worked for American Airlines at LaGuardia Airport. She was married to her husband, Paul, for 50 years until his passing. Mary has two sons, George of Brodheadsville and Paul of North Carolina. She is the proud grandmother of Paula and great-grandmother of James and Thomas.

Scott Versailles and Lauren Lupacchino

The engagement of Lauren Lupacchino of Fleetwood, Pa., to Scott Versailles, Llewellyn, Pa., has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Cynthia Lupacchino, Kutztown, and the late Donald Lupacchino.

She is a 2002 graduate of Kutztown High School and a 2006 graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in English.

She is currently employed as a personal bank representative for Sovereign Bank in Kutztown.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Barbara and Tom Versailles of Tamaqua.

Addison Lynn Steigerwalt

A daughter, Addison Lynn Steigerwalt, was born at 5:59 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital to Diana and Lester D. Steigerwalt Jr. of Palmerton.

She weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Gordana and Muhamed Balanca, Queens, N.Y.

Paternal grandparents are Kim and Lester Steigerwalt Sr., Aquashicola.

Tara Lindermuth and Chad Schreppel

The engagement of Tara Lindermuth to Chad Schreppel, both of Harrisburg, has been announced by their families.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Barry and Karen Lindermuth of Summit Hill.

She is a 2002 graduate of Panther Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of Lock Haven University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a minor in marketing communications.

She is employed as a marketing coordinator at Carlisle SynTec.

Jean Towle

Jean Towle, a resident of Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, was the guest of honor at a 90th birthday party held Sunday afternoon in the center's activities room.

Towle was born Feb. 6, 1921, and worked at the Pottsville Journal prior to her marriage.

She is well known for her community involvement in the Tamaqua area and, in particular, her loyal support of the U.S. Armed Services and veterans' groups.

She is the daughter of the late Gus and Lenora Knies and widow of Royal C. Towle Sr.

The engagement of Tara Ann Moran to Peter Joseph Semanoff, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Terry and Mari Ann Moran of Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a 2004 graduate of Lathrop High School and a 2008 graduate of Eastern Oregon University. She attends the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she is enrolled in the master's program for guidance and counseling.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simpson

April Bowers of Clearfield, Pa., daughter of Robert and Joanne Bowers of Lehighton, became the bride of Roy Simpson of Penfield, Pa., son of Carol and Michael Simpson, also of Penfield, on Oct. 2, 2010 at Weedville Wesleyan Church, Weedville, Pa.

The Rev. Bryon Kleppinger of Weedville officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Jeremiah Tyler of Virginia, a friend of the bride, was the vocalist, while the bride's sister, Laura Kleppinger of Weedville, was the pianist. Sara Pysher, Lehighton, also a friend of the bride, played the flute.

Gavin Isaac Betz

BETZ A son, Gavin Isaac Betz, was born at 3:57 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2010 in Pottsville to Sherri and Samuel Betz of New Ringgold.

He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 19 inches long.

He was welcomed home by an older brother, Logan, 5.

Maternal grandparents are Doreen and Richard Schenkel of Andreas.

Paternal grandfather is Jerome Betz of Hometown.
