Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Witner

Rachel A. Selert, daughter of Robert and Michele Selert, Packer Township, and Jeremy D. Witner, son of Brian and Janet Witner, Weatherly, were united in marriage by the Rev. Robert von Frisch in a double ring ceremony at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Packer Township on Oct. 9, 2010.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Katie Miller, Weatherly, as her maid of honor and Jennifer Neal, York, Pa. as her matron of honor.

A daughter, Charlotte Josephine Behan, was born at 12:40 a.m. on March 19, 2011 in Jacksonville, Fla. to Joy (Piatek) Behan and Paul Richard Behan of Fernandina Beach, Fla.

She weighed 9 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Bruce and Debby Piatek of Ormond Beach.

Paternal grandparents are Noel and Bernadette Behan of Jim Thorpe.

Lucas David Mongi

MA son, Lucas David Mongi, was born on Dec. 31, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown, to Jaimie and Joseph Mongi of Lehighton. He weighed 3 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 16 inches long.

He is the couple's first child.

Maternal grandparents are David and Elizabeth Rush of Trexlertown.

Paternal grandparents are Daryl and Karen Mongi of Lehighton.

Maternal great-grandparents are Selma and the late Allen Kubista, Trexlertown.

Matthew Kistler and Amanda Kunkel

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Amanda Lyn Kunkel, daughter of Robert and Kimberly Kunkel, Schnecksville, and Cheryl Kunkel, Tamaqua, to Matthew Kistler, son of Raymond and Teresa Kistler of West Penn Township.

The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2009 graduate of Wilkes University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education, with a minor in reading.

She also earned certifications in early childhood education and English language learning.

Sean Bernard and Erin Carnish

James and Kathryn Carnish of Tamaqua have announced the engagement of their daughter, Erin Carnish, to Sean Bernard, son of William and Christine Bernard of Oaklyn, N.J.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Hometown. In 2007 she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania; and in 2011, she graduated from the Jefferson Medical College, as a medical doctor.

She will begin her internal medicine residency at the Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, in June 2011.

Charles R. and Beryl Donahue of Tamaqua

Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Donahue of Tamaqua celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently.

They were married on March 24, 1951.

Mrs. Donahue is the former Beryl M. Wagner, daughter of the late Webster and Irene Wagner of the Lewistown Valley.

Mr. Donahue is the son of the late Hugh and Berdella Donahue. He formerly co-owned the P and B Sporting Goods Store in Tamaqua for 40 years.

The couple has two children: Candace, wife of Joel Johns of New Fairfield, Conn.; and the late Ricky H. Donahue.
