Albert Francis Baloga is celebrating his 91st birthday on Sept. 20. Born in Wilkes-Barre in 1919, Albert is a Penn State graduate and holds a degree in industrial electronics. He is a veteran of World War ll and served with the Fourth Armored Division as an operative sergeant with the 704 Tank Destroyer BN.

Albert was married to his wife, Catherine for 30 years until her passing in 2003. They had two daughters, Mary and Catherine who died as infants.

The Panther Valley High School Class of 1965 held it's 45-year reunion on Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Nesquehoning Fire Company Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Dougherty III

Alicia Gisele Oertner, New Ringgold, daughter of Conroy and Doris Oertner of Tamaqua, and Joseph Aloysius Dougherty III, son of Joseph and Laureen Dougherty Jr., Eynon, were united in marriage on May 8, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Phyllis J. Wolford. John Fredericks, Lehighton, was the organist, while Maria Lieberman of Bethlehem and Renae Hansen of Patchogue, N.Y. were the vocalists.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Maria Lieberman as maid of honor, and Renae Hansen as matron of honor.

Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Dotter

Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Dotter of Lehighton are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 24, 1960 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Weissport, by the Rev. Donald Repsher.

Mrs. Dotter is the former Faye Kuntz, daughter of the late Clarence "Tim" and Gertrude Kuntz, Weissport. Her husband is the son of the late Percy and Gussie Dotter.

The Panther Valley High School Class of 1980 will be holding an informal gathering at the Whitewater Rafting Adventures, 101 W. Adventure Trail, Nesquehoning on Saturday, Oct. 9, beginning at 3 p.m.

The Palmerton Area High School Class of 1960 held its 50-year reunion Sept. 11 at Blue Ridge Country Club. Classmate Jim Foley flew in from France to attend, while classmate Jack Kiss traveled all the way from Thailand. The Tamaqua High School Class of 1955 held its 55-year anniversary reunion on Sept. 18 at the New England Fire Company in Walker Township. The 46 classmates in attendance were joined by three former teachers and 32 guests. A memorial tribute was held for the 35 class members who have passed away. Attendees traveled from throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Texas and California.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Steigerwalt

Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Steigerwalt, Lehighton, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Sept. 16, 1950 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Palmerton by the late Rev. George McKinley.

Mrs. Steigerwalt is the former Viola Bowman, daughter of the late Victor and Celia Bowman of Bowmanstown.

Her husband is the son of the late Walter and Velma Steigerwalt of Lehighton.
