In light of upcoming holidays, Palmerton Mayor Christopher Olivia issued a reminder to the residents concerning a summertime entertainment staple.

"I would like to remind the people of Palmerton to be careful with their fireworks," he said."We have some ordinances against them, so they have to be careful. Use them in a safe manner, be mindful of their neighbors, and let's get through a safe Fourth of July."In other news, the board also approved a request by the Nesquehoning Borough for the use of Palmerton's Fire Police and barricades for the Carbon County Veterans Day Parade in November.
