Hometown fire displaces 3

A fire that started in a car of an attached garage has damaged a home in the village of Hometown, Rush Township.

The fire was first reported just before 9 p.m. in a car in an attached garage of a home located along Route 309 just south of the intersection with Route 54.

When firefighters from Hometown and surrounding communities arrived on scene they found flames pouring from the garage carrying into the two-story wood frame dwelling.

A family of three has been displaced. No injuries were reported.
