A drama group from Garner, North Carolina, affiliated with the Revive Community Fellowship ministry in Tamaqua, is preparing to share the life and times of prolific Christian music writer/composer Philip Bliss. They will present the original musical "It Is Well" at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Tamaqua Community Art Center. The play will revolve around Bliss, his wife, Lucy, and several other people from the 19th Century, including Daniel Webster Whittle, famed evangelist D.L. Moody and James McGranahan, retired postmaster from Rome, where the Bliss family lived. It chronicles well known events such as the Great Chicago Fire, the sinking of an ocean liner and the Ashtabula Horror, a train wreck."At its core, the play is about how people determine what they should do with their lives" says writer/director Tim Stevens.Revive Community Fellowship Church has an extensive drama program, sending out teams each summer to present plays with Christian themes. The team has performed in nine states, as well as in Canada. The art center is located at 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.
