Tamaqua man still missing

Police and family members are seeking the public's help to locate a missing Tamaqua man.

Michael J. Gray, 23, went missing around 7:30

p.m.March 19, when he walked to the Redbox at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 330 E. Broad St., to return a movie rental.Gray apparently was located sometime later and offered help, but has since been out of contact with family and friends.According to police, a Lansford woman contacted Lansford police a few days ago after seeing a man, later identified as Gray, hanging around her church and appearing as if he needed assistance.Gray was picked up and taken to the Tamaqua Salvation Army Regional Community Center, where he was furnished with emergency lodging. Afterward, Gray was taken to the Salvation Army Center in Allentown.Since then, his whereabouts cannot be confirmed.According to his father, Daniel Gray of Ada, Oklahoma, Michael was living with a cousin at 225 Cedar St. in Tamaqua."He was there working and was in between jobs as I understand," said his father.Gray is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 145 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes."Any help would be greatly appreciated," said his father.Fliers posted in the Tamaqua area ask those with information to call 570-516-8973, Gray's father at 580-340-9919, or Tamaqua police at 570-668-5000.
