Man faces DUI after Tamaqua stop

A Lansford man is facing charges after a vehicle stop in Tamaqua on June 26.

An officer on patrol saw a black Nissan being driven erratically on East Broad Street at 1:51 a.m. The car kept drifting from lane to lane and nearly struck at least one legally parked car. A traffic stop was made after the driver made several turns without using a turn signal.Sean Bonilla, 28, of 230 E. Bertsch St., was identified as the driver. He failed several field sobriety tests and was transported to a hospital for a blood test.Charges are pending the results of those tests and could include driving under the influence in addition to the traffic violations.
