State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a theft by unlawful taking incident that happened at 5:30 p.m. Monday in an apartment in the 400 block of Bridge Street in Weissport.

The victim is a 59-year-old Weissport man.Police said he reported a 36-year-old woman from Weissport got mad at him while they were inside the victim's apartment, after which time the woman picked up a glass bowl and threw it at the window in the apartment, smashing it. Police said she then took the victim's Samsung smartphone and a bottle of morphine, containing 45 pills that were prescribed for the victim, and fled the scene in an unknown direction.Police said charges of criminal mischief and theft are pending against the woman.
