Mr. and Mrs. Dave Remmel of Jim Thorpe celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on July 31.

The couple was married in 1976 at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Heights in Jim Thorpe by the Rev. Ron Mulberger.Mrs. Remmel is the former Irene Kemmerle, daughter of the late Charlotte and Marvin Kemmerle of Jim Thorpe. She is retired from the Social Security Administration in Allentown.Mr. Remmel is the son of Gloria Remmel of Jim Thorpe and the late Willard Remmel. He retired from AMPAL in Palmerton.The couple has two children, Mark and Ross Remmel; and two grandchildren, Ben and Anna.To celebrate the occasion, the couple hosted a big outdoor party at Jim Thorpe Memorial Park for family and friends last month.
