Two-hour delays

Dear editor,In regards to two-hour delays by school districts. Last school year, Panther Valley School District had quite a few two-hour delays. I would also like to know why the time is not made up. As a property owner and a taxpayer, I’m getting cheated on my tax dollar and the students are losing quality education time.I would like to know, is it the cold weather, inclement weather, snow or ice that is causing the two-hour delays? If it is the cold weather, I worked in St. Paul, Minnesota, in January years ago; the temperature was below zero at night just about every night. It wasn’t much higher during the day.I worked outside in an over-the-ground gasoline storage tank. We worked a half an hour and had to go into our truck for 10 minutes every hour to warm up. Back when I went to a Catholic grade school, we had school if snow was 2 inches or 2 feet. When I got there I also had to shovel snow around the school, church and the convent. I would like to know if the teachers are docked two hours pay? If there is a sporting event on this day, is it canceled just like you cancel it when school lets out early? Why isn’t anybody held accountable for their time?Thank you,Robert BenekLansford
