Art, Baskets and Wood

The Trinity Thrift Store in Lehighton will hold an Art, Baskets and Wood sale throughout the month of May.

Proceeds benefit the Trinity Food Pantry, which serves needy families throughout the Lehighton Area School District. The sale is run solely by volunteers."We don't have enough room in the main store to display something this large," said Thrift Store manager Kay Patterson. "We wanted to give people the opportunity to come and shop."She noted that some of the items, including original oil paintings and store bought artwork, are unique to the Thrift Store's offerings.The sale also features dozens of wooden baskets of all sizes, including some with plastic liners; bird houses; wooden dolls and knickknacks; picture frames; and wooden display racks. Prices are as low as 50 cents for the smaller baskets.The monthlong sale is housed on the stage of Luther Hall and is accessible from the rear stage door.It will be held during the store's normal hours: Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.The Trinity Thrift Store is located at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St. in Lehighton.
