In a presentation Wednesday, Schuylkill County commissioners listed the reasons why Nationwide Health Care Services of Brick, New Jersey, would be the best company to take over ownership of the county nursing home, Rest Haven.

• Nationwide has offered to accept all Rest Haven employees.• Five of Nationwide's six facilities have a unionized workforce, and the company has received an award from the Service Employees International Union.• Nationwide employees demonstrated excellent morale and support for their employer.• Nationwide and its principals have a strong financial history that indicates a financially stable operator.• It will not require a financing contingency.• Nationwide offered a $600,000 deposit to become non-refundable at the close of due diligence.• It demonstrated a strong record of reinvestment in its facilities, investing more than $17 million since 2002.
