Bulldogs, Bears grab field hockey wins

Northern Lehigh and Pleasant Valley both scored field hockey wins in scholastic action on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEYPalisades-No. LehighNorthern Lehigh defeated Palisades in a Colonial League match, 3-0.Erika Mckay scored once in the first half and again in the scond half for the Lady 'Dawgs. Jessica Olewine scored the other Northern Lehigh gaol.Taylor Herman contributed an assist in the victory for Northern Lehigh.The Lady 'Dawgs had ten shots on goal in the contest.Pleasant Valley-ES NorthPleasant Valley was victorious over East Stroudsburg North in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference match, 3-1.Abby Roselli, Kaila Borden, and Shannon Lozier all scored goals for the Bears in the contest. Roselli, Brianna Frable, and Annie Butchkowski all conributed assists during the win.East Stroudsburg North compiled just three shots, one which resulted in an Amanda Diener goal.Pleasant Valley had 20 shots and 14 corners in the match.VOLLEYBALLPanther Valley-Jim ThorpePanther Valley earned a road Schuylkill League victory over Jim Thorpe, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17.Kelsey Van Horn led the Panthers with 22 assists, 19 service points, eight aces and five kills. Jessica Wiese added 17 kills, 13 service points, nine digs and two aces, while Jamey Mikovich had 14 kills, 17 digs, five service points and three blockis.Alex McGinley was an Olympian standout with 19 digs. Riley Carroll had 21 assists and two kills. Jamie Masullo, Rachel Steinmark, Skylar Driscoll, and Nicolle Dudkewic were responsible for the rest of the Pleasant Valley scoring.Steinmark, Masullo, Natalie Kautz, and Abby Leach all had assist for the Lady Bears.Pleasant Valley out shot East Stroudsburg North, 12-2.GOLFEPC TOURNAMENTBethlehem Catholic's Nick Maff finished with a 77 to win the individual championship at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference inaugural golf tournament at Woodstone Country Club.Helen Hsu of Freedom was the female individual champion with a 79.Emmaus, the regular season champion, also won the team tournament title (with a 322, best four of five) for an automatic berth in the District 11 3A team tournament.Pleasant Valley's Ryan Adamonis had the best score for the Bears with an 89 to tie for 34th.Other Bears that participated were Ryan McCowe (97), Cody Scully (101), Craig Roberts (102) and Nate Coursey (103).
