West End Fair revisited

Above, John Forshee, better known as "Farmer John" and his faithful farmyard friend, Smudge, share a hug during one of the many daily presentations at the West End Fair Barnyard Express. Farmer John takes his mobile education farm center from fair to fair and schools across the country. He talks to children about barnyard animals and brings live animals to the stage like a goat, pig, a miniature horse, a calf and a sheep. He talks about the many farm chores and wonderful array of products that come from a farm in an educational but funny way. He was as much of a hit with the adults as he was with the kids.

At right, The West End Fair draws all manner of people to its midways. Some of them can be pretty frightening, like this fellow. Beetlejuice, aka Bill Frazetta, is just trying to scare up some interest for people to come see him at his stand. He is the owner of the East Stroudsburg business, Frazetta's Costumes. He's right next to another spooky vendor, The Hotel of Horror of Saylorsburg. Besides enjoying the West End Fair, they're hoping to stir up interest in visiting their locations this upcoming Halloween.See photos from the fair in our gallery at tnonline.com.
