Pleasant Valley School District’s board of directors voted 5-4 to hire Matthew Gould as the 2014-2015 head basketball coach Thursday night.

The board members who voted “no” were Dan Wunder and Susan Kresge. Dominic Sacci and Russell Gould abstained. Wunder said his “no” vote had no reflection on the candidate, it was a question of his experience.The board also hired a new head football coach, 9-0, Dave Pacchioni. He is a PVHS math teacher and has been an assistant football coach with Jim Terwilliger. Board member Steve Borger said he thought it was important for the football players to know who their new coach was going to be before the end of the 2013-2014 school year.The board approved the following head coaches for the 2014-2015 school year: Nadia Gauronsky, Girls’ Basketball in a 9-0 vote; Justin Micklos, wrestling, 8-1 vote (board member Linda Micklos abstained); Tracy Toth, winter cheering, 9-0.
