Summit Hill Lions note club's 15th anniversary

The Summit Hill Lions Club will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on March 30.

Some members of the club met recently at the Mansion House Restaurant in Summit Hill where they paid tribute to the efforts of the club's founder and first president Jerome Rhodunda, who died in 2006.The main speaker at the event was photographer Andy Leibenguth of Tamaqua.The club routinely supports a wide array of area community organizations and activities; to include the Summit Hill Food Pantry, Carbon County Friends of Animals, St. Luke's Hospital, Tamaqua Salvation Army, Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League Detachment 626 Toys For Tots, Summit Hill Historical Society/Heritage Center, Ludlow Park, and local student scholarships.In celebration of their 15-year anniversary, the club will be providing an additional donation to the Summit Hill Food Pantry.The club meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at various locations.For more information, contact the club at (570) 645-7621,
