Warren Reiner new Penn Forest board chairman

Penn Forest Township held its yearly reorganization meeting on Monday evening.

Newly elected supervisor, Philip Shedaker made a motion to appoint supervisor Warren Reiner as chairman for 2014. Shedaker was then appointed Vice Chairman of the board for 2014.Mary Ann Lewellyn was reappointed as secretary. Lewellyn was also reappointed as treasurer.Shedaker was appointed as primary delegate and Christine Fazio was appointed as alternate delegate to represent Penn Forest Township at the Carbon County Tax Collection Committee.Fazio was also appointed as personnel manager for building staff for 2014. Supervisor Judy Knappenberger was appointed as personnel manager for the transfer station staff.Reiner will continue as road master and newly elected supervisor Scott Lignore was appointed to serve as assistant road master.Attorney Thomas S. Nanovic was selected to represent the board as township solicitor in 2014. Kirk, Summa & Company was reappointed as township auditors.Mauch Chunk Trust Company was reappointed as depository for township funds.Barry Isett and Associates, Inc. will serve as sewage officers as well as commercial building inspectors and water enforcement officer in 2014. BIA will also act as township municipal engineers.Kathryn Forry of BIA will continue to serve as zoning officer, building code official and code enforcement officer.Cindy Henning and Carol Lynn Matthews will continue as administrative assistants. Henning will also serve as planning commission secretary.Robert Serafini was appointed as chairman of the Vacancy Board.Richard Walck was appointed as township emergency management coordinator.The monthly board of supervisors meeting will continue to take place on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
