Raymond W. Brown, 52, of Minersville, was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, following his arraignment on charges of simple assault and harassment after an incident at 6 p.m. Feb. 1 at 20 Silver Creek Road in Blythe Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said the victim is a 46-year-old female from the township.Police said Brown and the victim were involved in an argument that became physical, at which time Brown grabbed the woman and threw her onto the ground, causing her to sustain minor injuries to the head and arm. The victim was able to leave the residence and get herself to the Pottsville Medical Center for treatment.Brown was taken into custody and was unable to post bail, resulting in his incarceration.
