PCN visits Tamaqua workplace

Emma and her friends may not fully grasp the importance of PCN's visit to their workplace Monday morning, and that's a shame. Because they are the heart and soul of the reason for the visit.

Lynn Elko created Emma's Friends Soaps and Lotions in 2008 so adults with disabilities could have creative work in a beautiful environment. Their bath and body products are handmade and include soaps, scrubs, lotions, bath soaks, lip balms and other related products. Emma's is located at 101 East Broad St., Tamaqua, most commonly known as the Flat Iron Building.Matt Hall, PCN producer, Camp Hill, marveled at the beauty and light in the building as he readied his camera equipment. Nearby, seated around a large oval table, Emma's friends worked at various projects, such as slipping soap bars into packages or labeling packages."This visit from PCN will help us get the word out about what we're doing and help us continue to grow our business," Elko said. "It's also a chance for us to showcase our friends, and show people how much they can do if given the opportunity."Hall said he wasn't sure when the program would air on PCN, but suggested people check at pcntv.com for information about scheduling. For more information about Emma's Friends Soaps and Lotions, go to
