At a special personnel meeting on July 31, Towamensing Township supervisors voted to terminate secretary Lora Nothstein. She had been suspended without pay on July 23. She also has been removed from the position of chief pension officer. No reason was given at this time.

Assistant secretary Brenda Drew has taken over both positions. Her pay rate will continue at $12 per hour, which is what she was getting in the assistant position.The vote to remove Nothstein was unanimous, with Supervisor Tom Newman absent.Supervisors also discussed policy matters concerning the road crew.Nothstein said she plans to run for the position of supervisor.
