Lansford man won't leave, then flees

A felony warrant has been issued for Roberto Magobet, 35, whose last known address is 369 W. Ridge St., Lansford.

He was charged with criminal trespass, unlawful restraint, simple assault, defiant trespass, simple trespass and harassment after an incident which took place on March 29 at that address.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Jason A. Helmer with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford, here's what happened:At 10:03 p.m., Helmer was dispatched to 369 W. Ridge St. to check the welfare of Stacy Fortin. At the time, he had a wanted person in custody, and Summit Hill police were dispatched to the home to help. The Carbon County communications center had gotten a call from Marlene Steckle, a friend of Fortin's, who reported that she had gotten a text message from Fortin at 9:45 p.m., asking for help. Steckle hadn't heard from Fortin since then.Summit Hill officers Joseph David and Todd Woodward arrived at the house, where Fortin asked them to get Magobet, her former boyfriend, out of the house.Fortin had an active Protection from Abuse order against Magobet, who had been evicted from the home under the terms of the order. On March 29, he left the house, was arrested and taken to the Lansford police station. He admitted violating the PFA, but said that, according to court paperwork, that was his legal address. Police checked the order, and found it to be active from Dec. 20, 2013 through Dec. 20, 2015.Magobet has not been found since.Fortin gave police a written statement in which she said Magobet had threatened to hurt her if she didn't leave the house. But when she tried to leave, Magobet grabbed her coat and wouldn't let her go.Fortin said she was afraid, and hid in the bathroom, where she sent the text message to Steckle. Fortin told police she didn't know how Magobet got into the house; police found no signs of forced entry.
