Four female inmates charged

Four female inmates at the Carbon County Correctional Facility have been charged with drug offenses after ingesting narcotics.

Heather D. Groegler, 27; Bethann M. Neff, 26; Jennifer L. Rudelitch, 37; and Dale A. Stevens, 52, were charged by Nesquehoning Officer Dane O'Brien with contraband (controlled substance) and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.According to an affidavit of probable cause on July 11, various correctional officers noticed that a number of female inmates appeared to be under the influence of what they believed to be some sort of narcotic.As a result a random cellblock raid was conducted and any inmate showing signs of being under the influence were screened for drugs. They included the four women named, all of whom tested positive for Alprazolam, a narcotic.Groegler admitted to having ingested the drug. Neff, Stevens and Rudelitch refused to be interviewed by police.
