Shoemaker-Haydt Unit 314 of the Lehighton American Legion Auxiliary recently honored past presidents and its current president, Deborah DeCindio.

Past presidents attending the meeting were Gladys Balliet, Jean Rice, LaRue Fritz, Mildred German and Evelyn Nansteel. Other past presidents are Frances Keener, Joyce Kopack and Sara Hofford.Balliet served as president in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. She also served as council president in 2005.Rice was president in 1954 and 2005; German served as president in 1990, 1997 and 2008; and Nansteel was a president in 1967 and 1972.Keener served as president in 2003 and 2005 and was state department president in 2003.Kopack was president in 1974, 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1987. She served as council president in 1988 and 1989.Hofford was president in 1952 and 1973.
