Lehighton and Tamaqua scored wins in baseball over the weekend.

BASEBALL

NDGP-Jim Thorpe

Notre Dame scored in every inning, while Jim Thorpe had a tough time in the field, committing 12 errors on the day, as the Crusaders pulled out a 16-6, non-league, five-inning win.

Jyle Buchman and Eric Santiago were 3-for-3 and each scored two runs for Notre Dame.

For the Olympians, Nick Montonoero and Mitch Peters both went 2-for-3 on the day. Each of the other Olympians in the lineup had a single in the losing effort.

Lehighton-Catasauqua

Facing an early deficit, the Indians tied the game up in the fourth and scored three unanswered runs in the fifth to pull out the non-league 4-1 win over Catasauqua.

James Farano led the Tribe, going 2-for-3 on the day with two RBIs, while Jordan Knappenberger and Nick Hill each added a sole RBI.

Zach Stopay and Zac Edwards both finished the day at the plate 2-for-4 for the Roughies, who drop to 10-8 overall on the season.

Lehighton improves to 10-7 overall.

The Blue Raiders exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning and it lifted them to a five-inning 15-2 non-league win over the Hilltoppers.

Adam Bates was a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBIs. Derek Rottet added two hits and four RBIs and also scored two runs. HJe was also the winning pitcher.

Panther Vy.-CMVT

Scoring 10 runs in the fifth inning, Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech rolled to a 15-5 victory over Panther Valley, ended in six innings via the 10-run rule.

Despite the loss, Sam Zlock had three hits, including a double, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Panthers. Kristyn Gates also had two hits and scored a run.
