Zachariah James Melchior, 20, of Walnutport, was arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks on criminal charges after he was stopped for a vehicle code violation at 12:26 p.m. March 26 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said it was determined Melchior was operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and related paraphernalia.
