Eighty-five young bicyclists of Lansford procured licenses as the inspection of bikes and issuance of tags was launched today. John Bernhard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milford "Mickey" Bernhard, was the first one to appear at Bennick's Service Station when the inspection opened at 2:30 p.m. Bennick was kept busy until 6 p.m., checking brakes, tires, lights, reflectors, etc., assisted by his brother, Francis Bennick, assistant chief of police. The bicycle ordinance, signed by Chief Burgess James Walker, goes into effect April 1.
