Both north and southbound traffic on the Hometown Hill, SR309, were at a stand-still during yesterday's afternoon's snowstorm. In addition to causing traffic to be backed up for about a mile in both directions, drivers found it almost impossible to get traction on the roadway. Rush Township Police and Hometown Fire Police closed the hill for about 30 minutes as they detoured traffic around the area. At one time, about 40 vehicles were stuck on the hill.
