September 11, 1976 Dan Blose catches a pair of touchdown passes and Northwestern registers a 14-6 victory over Kutztown in a game of firsts. The contest was the first-ever for the Cougars' program and the win was the first (and only) for Frank Wirth as Tigers' head coach. Blose gets Northwestern on the board with a 13-yard TD catch from Todd Shellhamer and later hauls in an 18-yard scoring toss from Barry Sottolano.
