HOBY inspires enthusiasm

Nina Giambalvo was a guest at the Western Pocono Women's Club (WPWC) meeting and spoke enthusiastically about her recent experience at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) seminar. She was sponsored by WPWC as a sophomore for HOBY, but is now a junior at Pleasant Valley High School. HOBY is an organization dedicated to training and nurturing the young leaders of tomorrow. Its mission is to provide lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower youth to achieve their highest potential. "It is an experience I would never take back. We visited the Senate and House in Washington, D.C. We learned cheers and everywhere we went, we had to cheer. I met so many new friends and I was asked to come back next year as a TA. You have to have at least 100 hours of volunteering and I already have that. I can't wait to go back." She was asked to give one of the cheers she learned and she entertained club members with her high energy cheer about a moose who loved his juice.
