Planning an event to benefit the American Cancer Society, Carbon-Tamaqua Unit, Wayne Fritzinger of Nesquehoning followed through with an idea from his friend Gene Snisky, a 1988 Panther Valley High School graduate and former Nesquehoning resident. Snisky, who is better known as "Snitsky" in the wrestling ring, advised Fritzinger to hold a wrestling event. Snisky gave of his time and talent to set up for the big evening.

Snisky said, "I want to help people in this area." They incorporated the match to tie in with the Zoostock Labor Day festivities for the cancer society which started on Thursday night. "As we started planning everything fell together", remarked Snisky. "Keep your dreams alive and you can attain your goals", commented Snisky, who works as an actor and professional wrestler. He has done a lot of charity work for the Diabetes Foundation, Autism, and the Ronald McDonald House."Almost everyone has been touched by cancer," said Snisky. With 150 people attending the wrestling event, $3,000 was donated to the ACS from the proceeds of the match and Meet and Greet at the Sports Zoo in Lansford.Some of Snisky's recent films include Dark Shield (Cannes Film Festival) and Expert Witness (Comedy Central). Wrestling fan, Marty, drove 2 1/2 hours from New Jersey to the show. He enjoys wrestling and wanted to see Snitsky. He sat ringside for the event.The eight matches brought the audience off their seats, especially in the last match featuring Snitsky and Afa, Jr. dueling inside and outside the ring. Snisky took Afa up on top of the bleachers in front of Snisky's P.V. friends which put a scare in them as they jumped out of their seats. Snisky won the match. He hopes to turn the show into a yearly event and raise more money for the Cancer Society.
