Women golfers celebrate last tee

The 2012 Ladies League of the Indian Mountain Golf Course, Kresgeville, celebrated its year with an end-of-season tournament and banquet. The committee chose the Mad Hatter as its theme and Kathi Wolter and Dottie Sawyer, banquet chairwomen, took advantage of their creative talents to decorate their golf-themed hats. The afternoon of the tournament, each hole on the course was set up with a crazy contest pertaining to the theme. Members made decorative hats for the banquet. Prizes for the most creative were won by Diane Swift and Claire Butz. Tournament winners were: Longest Drive - Pat Mackes, Straightest Drive - Dee Faust, Closest to Pin # 5 - Kelly Gianetto, and Closest to Pin # 8 - Diane Swift. Each member received a "goody bag" and a gift. Twenty-two women participated in this year's non-competitive league. The league is open to women of any handicap level and new members are encouraged to join. For more information, call Wolter (610) 852-2105 or Mackes at (610) 681-4967.
