The Lehighton Jr. team from Lehighton Area High School took first place during the 2012 high school Envirothon on Thursday. The team scored 358 1/2. Other teams that placed are: Palmerton 1 of Palmerton Area High School, second; Lehighton 41 of Lehighton Area High School, third; and Lehighton Lite of Lehighton Area High School, honorable mention. Lehighton Jr. now goes on to compete in the state Envirothon on May 22 and 23 at the University of Pittsburgh.
