Brush fire halted

Mahoning Valley firefighters stopped a brush fire in its tracks Wednesday afternoon along SR902 on the township side of Bugzie's Mountain. The fire was discovered just after 4 p.m. as flames were climbing an embankment and entering a field along the east berm halfway up the mountain. Firemen used streams of water to extinguish the flames and cool hot spots. Firefighters and township police examined articles along the berm which may be evidence into the origin of the fire. Mahoning Valley fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
