The Palmerton Area High School Athletic Complex looks visibly different now that the bleachers have been ripped down as part of a $774,000 stadium improvement project. The project also calls for a weight room roof, demolition, installation of a permanent grandstand, and associated site improvements, and is included in the list of bond projects after the previous board agreed last fall to borrow $5 million and restructure the district's 2006 bond issue. The new stadium lighting has also recently been upgraded to the tune of $99,469. That project, which is also included in the list of bond projects, involves the installation of four new steel poles, foundations and lighting fixtures at the stadium.
