A Monroe County juvenile is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident that occurred about 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, at Bill's Shop Rite, in Mount Pocono.

Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to the store and was told by store employees that a 14-year-old male from Tobyhanna attempted to remove $171 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it. The merchandise included candy, water and two newspapers.The teen was taken to the police station, processed, and later released to the custody of a parent. The charge will be filed with the county juvenile probation office.
