Youth group visits Ed Center

The youth group of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, recently visited the Carbon County Environmental Center to build bird boxes. The children are involved in a church curriculum that stresses taking care of "God's world and all His creatures in it." After an opening prayer, the youths were entertained by an educational discussion given by Franklin Klock about the regions birds and which ones may nest in their boxes. Klock directed the youths in nailing the wooden pieces together to complete the houses. A tour of the center and grounds completed the event. Participating were, front, from left, Natalie Vermillion, Stephen Hood, Hayden Goida, Bradley Hood, Joshua Faenza, Ariana Juliano (in front) and Abbey Vermillion; and back, Maxwell Vermillion, Klock and Alexis Vermillion.
