I saw on the news that PA. wants to charge a 4-1/2 percent tax on gas drilling wells. I am in favor of this along with a lot of PA residents. I would like Harrisburg to put a 4-1/2 percent tax on profits of all coal mines in PA. These mines are in depressed areas. They also do not pay their share of school, boro, and county taxes. Check it for yourself!Toll Bros. owns a mountain in Coaldale, Lansford and Tamaqua. These towns are depressed. No jobs to brag about.Toll Bros. is putting millions into equipment and will make millions of dollars. These towns need help, roads, jobs, bills. This is where it starts...the 4.5 percent tax in their backyard!If Harrisburg gives these boros money, it would have to be watched closely, so it is not thrown away or misused.
